This week conditions are looking good for a good snowshoe or hike on Hubbard ,
Finally a good storm in the forecast ,,Let it snow!
Afterwards we’ll be enjoying some great
Home baked five Cheese Lasagna
,Salad ,and a great Blackberry and Peach Cobbler , John

Thursday evening at Hubbard we are planning again on hiking and riding. Last week we walked for four miles for a good hike. The riders said the conditions were good also.
Afterwards we’ll be having Sloppy Joes along with some kind of good desserts.Have a great week and hope to see you on Thursday…………John

Hello Everyone,
Want to again thank everyone for coming out and making the plunge a huge success. Close to 3000 dollars raised and well over 120 plungers along with hundreds of spectators. Couldn’t have ever done it without all the wonderful people who really worked hard and made the day go very smooth and very well organized.
We really enjoyed the cold but sunny day and it couldn’t have been a nicer day for it.
We went through over 400 Hot dogs and 20 gallons of Hot Chocolate along with just as much coffee.
The ice coffee table, the couch ,the big H plus the mini igloo and ice slide really made a nice touch.
The music was just great!
I posted some pictures to the website.Hope you enjoy them and am looking forward to do it again next year.

This week the trails should be snow free and frozen solid to make for some good mid winter night riding. We’ll ride as much single track as possible depending on the trail conditions. Also there will be hikers as well. Afterwards we’ll have steak sub sandwiches and fries.

The Polar Plunge is finally here. All the anticipation of jumping in the frigid ice water is here too. The weather is going to be just right. High of 27 degrees.
On Sat. we are planning on cutting the ice and getting set up. , Anyone wanting to come up to help with setting up that day would be appreciated greatly. 9:00 am Saturday and we should be finished by 1:00. We can then head down to the Wegmans beer and food pairing or have lunch at the barn.
On Sunday we will be starting the PLUNGE DAY at noon.
Pass the word out and bring your friends and family for this good cause . The ARC of NEPA really appreciates this and the Hubbard Bicycle Club and everyone’s, donations, time and efforts in making this a successful fundraiser for them.
This year we are having some live entertainment, “Jack Bordo will be playing” along with “Earthen” another local band. We all really appreciate them in helping also.

This week we are finally getting into some milder temps so it will make for a more nice walk or ride Thursday evening. There is plenty of snow on Hubbard to enjoy the trails on snowshoes. Riding will be difficult but possible on the dirt roads or access roads.
Afterwards we’ll be having some nice Homemade Beef stew for dinner.

Then on Sat. the conditions will be just perfect for a back country dirt road ride. Planning on leaving the Hubbard barn at 10:00 am.
Frozen roads, sunny skies with above freezing weather will make it a great ride. Cross or MT. bikes will work great for this one. Will go out to Handsome lake - Baylors lake area and back for a three hour 25 miler.
Come on out and enjoy the January thaw while it is here……………John

THIS WEEK WE’LL BE HIKING AGAIN DUE TO THE HEAVY SNOW AND LOW TEMPS. AFTERWARDS WE’LL BE SERVING CHEESEBURGERS AND FRIES, TRY TO STAY WARM!!

Come on out for the annual ride or hike on Hubbard New Years morning at 9:00 AM. We’ll be back at the barn at 11:00 for a nice complimentary breakfast of Ham and Eggs for start of the next decade. ” HAPPY NEW YEAR” John
